The conference is dedicated to the 120^th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding Soviet scientist, specialist in the field of medicinal chemistry, organic chemist, Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Professor of the Pavlov University, Corresponding Member of the USSR Academy of Medical Sciences, Nikolai Vasilyevich Khromov-Borisov. Under the leadership of Khromov-Borisov, new drugs (Metacin, Pentoxyl, Sigetin, Paramion, Aethimizole) were created, the concept of creating drugs with controlled action was developed, approaches to the use of quantum chemistry and molecular mechanics methods for conformational studies of biologically active molecules and determination of the three-dimensional structure of a pharmacophore were developed. The listed approaches formed the basis for the creation of the concept of molecular design of drugs.
